About Elsie Gordon.
I am in my mid fities. I never went to college after finishing high school so I never had what I would call a career. I only had jobs. From high school I went straight to an office job and spent ten years working as an office clerk, accounting clerk and clerk typists. When I had my children I become a full time stay at home mom and remained so for the next sixteen years or so. By the time I was ready to return to the work force all my office skills were obselite; it was the new age of computers and high tech. I picked up some computer skills by taking a few courses and I landed a couple of short term office jobs. For the most part I worked in retail or grocery/food service. A few years ago I was lucky enough to get hired on as a picture framer at a extremely busy gallery/picture framing shop. I had no pervious experince in the field only a great interest. I am a fast learner and picked up the necessary skills within a very short period. Within months I was responsible for all the picture framing assembly for the gallery and shop along with some administrative duties. After several years of working at a job that was physically demanding with little or no reliable help I was burned out. For the last few months I have been unemployeed. I am now seeking new challeges in my life.
